The desire to get rid of excess in the bladder or intestines after a while becomes the most important and most necessary, in other words, the dominant need. This excludes the need for all the other until it is satisfied. Do not punish a little dog in this case, as it is useless, you just need to look for an opportunity and as often as possible to walk with your puppy outside.
As a rule, the puppy has the desire to ease itself after games, sleep or feeding, and once you see the dog begins to sniff hardly the floor or spin then and there - immediately take it out. Make sure the puppy did physical needs on the lawn. Agree, it is not nice to see dog's feces on the sidewalk. Being accustomed to this, an adult dog will still do it on the lawn, but not on the asphalt. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to walk with the puppy often, what to do in such a case? There are three outputs in this case:
1. Not acceptable for the most of the owners - to live in a smelly apartment.
2. Ask friends or neighbors to walk with the puppy.
3. Teach your puppy to ease itself in a specially prepared place in the same apartment.
The first two ways are clear and there is no need to comment them, but let us talk about the third one. That makes them to do a special tray for their pets. Only this tray should be with high sides than the tray for cats and certainly more spacious. To accustom the puppy to the tray is not difficult. In that case, if you notice that your pet is going to do specific things, and it is not difficult to identify, take it in your arms or gently push it the tray, and you may have to overcome the resistance, but the main thing do not allow the puppy to escape from the designated areas until it eases itself.
The dog will not always hit the spot, but do not worry, because the puppy needs time to learn. The puppy learns quickly where to go to the toilet, if you apply a little rigor. Let us suppose, it eased itself where it is forbidden, in this case it is necessary to punish it; if it got where it should ease itself, you should praise it and give something tasty.
Never punish your puppy if it has "sinned" and walks satisfied from the "crime scene"; firstly, it will help a little, and secondly, you train a dog to do such things secretly and quickly to retreat. Also, there are dog suffering from a disorder of the gastrointestinal tract, in this case, you never punish it.
The best option would be if you notice a restless dog's behavior, you give it an opportunity to defecate in the street. It is enough to do it a few times and restless puppy will call you to walk on the fresh air it he needs it. If you did everything correctly, then the puppy of 6-8 months old is enough to walk 3-4 times a day. When the dog is one year old, the number of walks can be reduced to 2-3.
