It moves a little at home, doesnt lose many calories, so raw meat is heavy food for it. Meals shouldn't consist only of meat. That's why vets say that pet food must be balanced!
Food for domestic cats shouldn’t be as wild as for cats living on the streets. It must consist of all vitamins.
Cat owner must decide whether to buy feed at store or to cook it by himself. In the last decade, pet food industry is produced on the highest level.
There are many kinds of feed:
For kittens; for nursing cats; for castrated cat; for cats living at home; vegetarian food; with seafood; meat with vegetables; fortified feed. And so on and so forth. Also you can pick up food, conducting prevention of any disease.
Cats living outside home almost don't eat plant food. They make up for all the vitamins that can eat the rodent entirely with the gastric content.
What feed to choose: dry or canned?
The owner should consult the vet. Vet examines a cat and advise the owner what feed is the best. Many owners give their cats from time to time specialty food and canned feed, raw meat or fish - alternating products. All this is good, only it’s necessary to remove all bones from raw meat and fish, even the small ones. Bones can damage the stomach and intestines of a cat.
Is milk useful for cats?
Many people think it’s useful. Their pet should drink milk every day. Milk is stodge for cats and it's often the cause of indigestion. It can cause cats' allergies. Such products as kefir, curd and sour cream are tasty, useful and safe!
Where to place the "dining room" for your pet?
It may be there where nobody goes, where you don't disturb it, even the kitchen is good enough. Let the beauty eat with everybody. The cat even will be pleased it eats like everybody, at the same time.
Be sure to have a few bowls: for food, water, kefir and various goodies that cat should be given two or three times a day. It may be a few teaspoons of sour cream or curd.
Bowls should be high for feed, water and kefir, and low for goodies. They must be stable, so they do not "drive" on the floor, and the cat can't overturn them. Clean bowls regularly: every day clean a bowl with feed, bowl with water clean every three-four hours, bowl with kefir after it drinks it, bowl with goodies after it eats them.
Water should be always fresh, filtered and cold. It should be changed frequently. Cat eats dry feed, which means that the cat must drink three times much water.
How often to feed a pet?
Water and feed should be always in the bowls; kefir in the plate, goodies when all members of the family sit down to eat. The cat eats fractionally and to 25 times a day. It should know when it can gnaw its 5 or 6 crackers from feed and lap its water. Don't compare it with the human, which has a first course, second course, salad and fruit compote at a time...
