Who is this breed suited to?
The Moscow Watchdog is a very substantial guardian. Consider it only where adults can manage its strength, visitor introductions and transport throughout its life.
Daily time commitment
Provide appropriate walks and training for calm gate, lead and household behaviour. The standard describes an active dog but does not prescribe exercise minutes.
Coat and everyday care
The long dense coat and developed undercoat need thorough brushing. Practise foot, ear and whole-body handling while the puppy is still easy to manage.
Challenges to plan for
Its watchful role requires a plan for guests and boundaries; large size makes mistakes harder to contain. A breed standard's ideal temperament is not a guarantee.
How does it compare?
The Saint Bernard contributed to its development, alongside guardian ancestry; a similar substantial outline should not lead buyers to assume identical behaviour.
Questions to ask a breeder
Ask to see calm adult dogs meeting visitors, health documentation and a realistic adult-size history. How are puppies introduced to grooming, lead handling and ordinary household activity?
