A rare Polish sighthound historically used by nobility to course hare and fox.

Who is this breed suited to?

The Chart Polski suits an owner experienced with large, powerful sighthounds and able to arrange securely enclosed opportunities for movement.

Daily time commitment

FCI gives no daily duration. Plan varied walks and safe running while adapting workload to condition rather than chasing a generic target.

Coat and everyday care

Check the short coat and muscular frame regularly, paying attention to feet after hard-ground exercise and to comfortable resting space.

Challenges to plan for

Its historical quarry included substantial game. Do not equate the word greyhound with guaranteed calmness, sociability or safety around smaller animals.

How does it compare?

The Greyhound is a useful visual comparison, but the Chart Polski standard calls for a stronger, less fine construction.

Questions to ask a breeder

How do the adults respond to animals and strangers, where do they run safely, and what screening and exercise guidance will you provide?
