Akita Inu breeders in Oregon

Finding a responsible Akita Inu breeder in Oregon

A powerful, dignified spitz breed from Japan's mountainous north, historically used for hunting and later as a symbol of loyalty.

When comparing Akita Inu breeders, ask how young animals are raised, which health checks are performed on the parents, and what veterinary, vaccination, registration, and return-policy documentation comes with each animal. A responsible breeder should welcome questions, explain their breeding goals clearly, and allow you to meet the animal and its parent where practical.

Questions to ask a Akita Inu breeder

• Which breed-appropriate health screenings have the parents completed?
• Can I see veterinary records and meet the parents in person or by live video?
• How are young animals of this breed socialized before going to new homes?
• What support and return policy do you provide after placement?
