Who is this breed suited to?
The Cane Corso suits someone prepared to train and manage a substantial Italian guardian, with secure boundaries and predictable visitor arrangements.
Daily time commitment
Provide daily controlled walks, cooperative learning and rest. Its agile working description does not supply an exact exercise-minute target.
Coat and everyday care
Brush the short dense coat and light undercoat. Introduce calm body, paw and mouth checks while the puppy is still manageable.
Challenges to plan for
Guarding family and property requires owner judgement about ordinary visitors. A powerful dog should not be expected to make every boundary decision alone.
How does it compare?
The Bullmastiff offers another large guardian comparison, but the Cane Corso has separate Italian working roots. Compare adult movement and the specific family.
Questions to ask a breeder
Can I meet the parents safely and review their health assessments? Ask about visitor behaviour, puppy socialisation and ongoing breeder support.
